This week, Jem Lloyd-Williams, executive director, product & innovation at Vizeum UK, joins the cream of media in the Brighton sunshine for Media 360.


To ensure we all check in with each other and understand the focus for the week ahead, everyone gets together first thing on Monday morning. This week promises lots of new business, sponsorships going live and a couple of new starters.

For me, I'm in pitch rehearsals most of the day, punctuated with a UK Exec meeting to discuss our real estate strategy. As our UK business expands rapidly, we have to find solutions for where to house everyone. It feels like a good problem to have.


Today offers three highlights. First I get to walk my two daughters to school. Corny, I know but it's lovely to walk across the park with them. They're hilarious.

At the agency, it's a meeting with one of our rising stars from our investment team. She's asked me to be her mentor, which is rather flattering. We talk the future of TV and the positive influence of certain individuals in agencies. She’s clearly very smart.

Third highlight is our leadership get-together. First one is with our returning COO, Jo Sutherland. Fresh from maternity leave, she's full of great ideas and positive energy.


Pitch in the morning to clients – probably the best bit of the job. Everyone tells their part of the story brilliantly and, most importantly, the clients ask some great questions.

Then, I experience the usual post-pitching come-down. No matter what I do, for about two hours after being on my feet in a pitch, I can't concentrate on anything meaningful. A quick walk around Regent's Park brings me back down to earth.

Then it's a catch-up with Sven from Spotify in the afternoon. As usual, he's got the inside track on some exciting stuff the company is deploying soon.

Lastly, it's an interview for a new business director to fill a role created by new clients. It's always good to meet and chat with folk from different agencies.


Down to Brighton for Media 360 with lots of familiar faces in the scrum for seats. The highlight for me is the CEO of Brompton Bikes telling us how he sees it when it comes to marketing.

Peppered with anecdotes and mild expletives, he's great to listen to. And then a great panel, including an old mate Paul Rowlinson, talking sense about talent.

It's a beautiful day so Richard Morris (our MD) and I do a power-hour in the sunshine honing pitch stories and then back to more sessions on innovation and entrepreneurship.

On the train back up to London we do some more business planning and part company at Clapham Junction. I'm off to enjoy a beer or two in the sunshine with mates.


Nursing a mild hangover after a "media Thursday" drink with some old mates from MediaCom. I only just make it to an interview for a new EA.

Then it's straight into rehearsals for another pitch. The team seems to be totally in control and, pleasingly, I feel slightly redundant as they go through the story.

I grab a very quick chat with Chrissy Totty, our head of innovation, about a start-up we’re meeting next week. They’re experts in AI so we agree we need to read up on the subject pre the meeting.

Last thing is a check-in with one of our planners who is taking on a new international role on a client we’ve just retained. It feels like it’s been a long but productive week.
