The animated spot for the Ad Council helps parents "Learn the Signs" of autism
In this touching ad that blends traditional stop-motion animation and 3D computer modeling, a little boy journeys into the woods and finds ways to cope with loud sounds, bright lights and staring eyes. The creative team at BBDO New York based the story on the life of Jacob, a young boy with autism who didn’t speak until he was four.
The spot is the first in a series of public-service announcements and will run on broadcast and cable television, as well as social media. The campaign also includes behind-the-scenes video detailing the creative process and the inspiration for the ads.
