A man with a very beige wardrobe is surprised to find Christopher Walken in his closet in the automaker’s Super Bowl spot.
The Korean car brand has previously announced that it would be appearing in Super Bowl 2016, marking its 7th straight appearance in the game. The company has also released stills of Walken on set filming the 60-second spot, which was made by agency David&Goliath.
The teaser focuses on a man dressed all in beige asking his wife if she’s seen his beige socks. She tells him to check the walk-in closet, which is filled with row upon row of beige suits – and a creepy surprise.
The full spot will focus on the Optima midsize sedan, positioning it as a "vibrant alternative for those determined not to fit in," said a release. Like last year, Kia’s commercial will appear in the 3rd quarter.
In 2015, the company’s Super Bowl commercial, also created by David&Goliath, featured Pierce Brosnan being pitched a commercial that he assumes will be filled with action and explosions, but is in fact just a quiet drive up a mountain in a Sorrento. The spot played off Brosnan’s longtime role as James Bond.
