Bassil joins from Possible, where she was an operations director.
At the same time, from this week senior staff are divided into management partners, integrated partners and creative partners.
They will report to the executive partners, Joseph Petyan, Russell Ramsey and James Whitehead.
The structure aims to bring JWT’s business divisions closer together, leading to greater collaboration and more integrated solutions for clients.
Petyan told Campaign: "We have got a much broader offering than our old systems legislated for. There are important and talented people [outside of the executive management team] who are charged with growing parts of the business and we wanted our management structure to reflect this."
Bassil will be one of the management partners, along with Neil Godber, the head of planning, Carmen Bekker, the European marketing director, and Cathy Little, the co-director of talent.
In her new role, Bassil will lead a group of 13 integrated partners charged with ensuring the agency’s systems and processes are geared towards integration.
There are 24 new partners in total. The structure is specific to JWT’s London office and there are no plans to roll it out to other cities.
