JWT allows Brazilian barbecue buffs to brand their meat

Proud foodies who regard their culinary creations as works of art may be tempted by J Walter Thompson's new brand concept in Brazil.

The Meat Signature Maker, created for Tramontina, a homeware maker, allows chefs to mark grilled meat with their signature, just like an artist.

The tool, a customised skewer, has been created for Francis Mallman, a celebrity chef from Argentina. Other famous foodies in South America are due to have theirs made too.

Ricardo John, the chief creative officer at J Walter Thompson Brazil, said: "No matter how many thousands of utensils they produce every month, they [Tramontina] still have a twinkle in their yes, like artisans.

"A customised piece especially forged for each barbecuer is a very special thing, not just for the chefs, but also for the brand."

Shoppers will be able to buy their own Signature Maker at a special sale at Tramontina’s T store in Rio de Janeiro.
