Many retailers reward customer loyalty during the holidays — but JCPenney is extending that model by letting customers buy another customer a gift of any price on JCPenney’s dime.
But there’s just one catch to this campaign created by agencies EVB and Victors & Spoils: The recipient must be a complete stranger.
The "Just Got Jingled" spot begins by asking shoppers whether they think it’s better to give or receive, then inviting them to choose a stranger who'll get a gift.
The items range in price and include clothes, jewelry and toys. Regardless of the gift, the reaction is one-size-fits-all: joy.
JCPenney ties the campaign with a "Just Got Jingled" website that includes reactions from the customers, explains how to give a gift to your community, and features reactions from participants who use the hashtag #JustGotJingled.
