J. Walter Thompson leaps 15 spots in R3's new business chart for April

McCann, DDB, Mindshare and MediaVest Spark also had strong months, according to global data from the search consultancy.

Within creative and digital agencies globally, the fastest mover this month was J. Walter Thompson, which moved up to the 4th spot from 19th last month thanks to a raft of wins across multiple markets and disciplines. McCann maintained top position on the back of a Coca-Cola project in the US and more Reckitt’s business in Europe. DDB’s global EA Sports win kept it in the top five. Looking at media agencies, Mindshare moved from 8th to 2nd with global wins including Jaguar China. Universal McCann picked up global business from Coach and Accenture

Among creative and digital agencies in the US, there was no change in the top five rankings through April–with DDB moving up off the back of the Miller Lite win and J. Walter Thompson entering the list for the first time this year. For media agencies, MediaVest Spark jumped up to 2nd with its H&R Block win, and Mindshare was the biggest mover, securing the TJX business and other wins.
