Iris recruits David Prideaux as joint ECD at UK division

Iris has appointed David Prideaux, a former executive creative director at Publicis Chemistry, as its joint executive creative director in the UK alongside Andy Taylor.

They will oversee the output of Iris’ London creative department, which consists of 100 staff, and report to Shaun McIlrath, Iris’ global chief creative officer. Prideaux will initially work on Barclaycard, Shell and Samsung.

The appointment follows the exit of Chris Baylis, the previous joint UK ECD, who left after Christmas to go freelance. Prideaux had been freelancing at Iris since September last year.

Prideaux spent eight years at Publicis, most recently at Publicis Chemistry, and left last year. He was ECD for four years and previously held the same role at Publicis Dialog, which was later merged with Chemistry.

Starting his career at Bates Dorland as a junior copywriter, Prideaux has also had stints at Rapier and Circus.

McIlrath said: "David not only brings a huge amount of creative and managerial experience, he shares the same sense of frustrated ambition that all our best recruits from the networks have shown."
