Infosys: data partnership with ATP World Tour

Indian IT company Infosys will be a key sponsor of 62 international tennis tournaments under the ATP World Tour banner for the next three years.

Infosys has become the tour’s global technology services partner as well as a platinum partner alongside FedEx, Emirates and Ricoh. This is the second-highest tier of sponsorship below the premier partner, beer brand Corona.

The agreement includes the creation of an Infosys ATP Scores & Stats Centre, which it is claimed with "revolutionise engagement with tennis fans by providing unprecedented insights about every tournament, every match and every point".

Infosys will also manage ATP’s infrastructure and data, and revamp the ATP Player Zone, a platform allowing players to administer their connection with ATP events.

Dr. Vishal Sikka, chief executive of Infosys, said: "This partnership will enable us to bring new experiences in new ways to fans worldwide and will also serve to inform many new types of consumer engagements in other walks of life."

Chris Kermode, ATP executive chairman and president, said: "The opportunities surrounding technology, statistics and data in men’s professional tennis are vast. We look forward to developing a number of exciting initiatives as part of the partnership."

The sponsorship deal echoes one announced last week for Indian IT company HCL Technologies to become Manchester United’s digital transformation partner.
