Now going into its third year, Independent Venue Week will take place on 25-31 January 2016 across 120 music spaces, an expansion from this year’s 91.
Sybil Bell, founder of the project, told Event: "We don’t want to work with people who will just slap their brand on it. What we’re looking for is a company who wants to take a long-term view of working with grassroots music.
"It’s a hard graft – this audience doesn’t like the hard sell. But the brands we’re in talks with now are coming to us with a long-term plan."
She added that the organisation has already turned down some brands that it felt would not be a good fit.
This year saw Vauxhall sponsor Independent Venue Week. The auto company provided its Vivaro van as a tour bus for bands such as Frankie and the Heartstrings during the week and beyond.
The activation is still ongoing and recently featured British rock band Don Broco.
