Immediate Media, Dennis Publishing, the Financial Times and the i newspaper have topped the nominations list for Campaign’s British Media Awards 2019.
Immediate was the most shortlisted company with six nominations at the awards, which reward excellence in UK-based national, local and international media.
Dennis, the Financial Times and i were next best with five nominations each.
Six titles are vying for Media Brand of the Year: BBC Good Food, Beano Studios, the Financial Times, i, NME and The Times together with its stablemate The Sunday Times.
Seven companies are in the running for Media Company of the Year: Dennis, the Financial Times, Forbes, Guardian News & Media, Hearst, Jungle Creations and UKTV.
More than 50 businesses have been nominated across 26 categories spanning, among others, content, commerce, editorial, live events, subscription and technology.
The shortlisted companies range from international businesses including Disney, The New York Times’ T Brand Studio, PwC and Spotify to regional UK magazines and brands such as Manor, Ox, Round & About and NCJ Media.
James Wildman, president and chief executive of Hearst UK, is chairman of the judges, who are drawn from across media owners, publishers and brands.
The British Media Awards will be announced at a black-tie dinner at the Hilton on Park Lane, London, on 22 May.
