Agency Imagination has recruited Matthew Maxwell as its new digital creative director.

Maxwell joins the company from mobile specialist Sponge where he worked as creative director on campaigns for McDonald’s, Diageo, Asda and Barclays.

At Imagination he will work for a number of automotive clients including Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston Martin and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.

Ross Wheeler, head of automotive at Imagination, said: "Experiential marketing requires a truly integrated solution. Matthew brings a wealth of knowledge from the digital marketplace as well as a truly creative and artistic vision which is vital here at Imagination."

Maxwell added: "Becoming part of Imagination allows me to pursue my passion for creating better business through beautiful technology."
