Ice cream brings families and friends of all kinds together in Dreyer's spot

New campaign from GS&P weaves melancholy into its message of "Togetherness"

Families and friends bond over dessert in a new campaign from Goodby Silverstein & Partners for Oakland-based ice cream brand Dreyer’s (marketed as Edy’s east of the Rocky Mountains). In a 30-second TV spot and its 90-second online cut that launched today, emotional vignettes both happy and sad catalogue moments of closeness, all set against a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s "True Colors" by Swedish singer Ane Brun. The TV spot also ties the campaign to the history of the brand, emphasizing the founding partnership between ice cream maker William Dreyer and candy maker Joseph Edy.
