Footwear brand Vans is set to open its experiential House of Vans concept in the Old Vic Tunnels under Waterloo Station, in London.

Opening on 9 August, the 30,000 square-foot venue will include a 850-person capacity music venue, an art gallery, incubator spaces for artists, a café, a 100-seat cinema, bars and a skate and BMX park featuring a concrete bowl, mini ramp and street course.

The ‘open-for all’ skate zone will be London’s only permanent indoor skatepark and is currently taking bookings online.

The House of Vans will be open to the public for free on weekdays from 9am-6pm, and will host major live events on weekends between 10am and 10pm.

Vans said the space has been designed to reflect the company’s creative culture. The décor has been inspired from its 1960s heritage, featuring neon lights, Americana details and a rugged skater arena.

A full schedule of events will be revealed closer to the venue’s opening. The company previously opened a House of Vans in Brooklyn, New York, as well as a two-day pop-up version of the concept in Berlin, Germany, in January.

Jeremy de Maillard, Vans VP of marketing, said: "The House of Vans London is the physical manifestation of the cultures and creativity at the heart of the Vans brand. London is the perfect city to expand this original concept first established in Brooklyn and it’s an honour to take over this iconic venue from the Old Vic.

"We’re looking forward to building on this legacy, working closely with the local communities and key stakeholders involved in the project."
