Company behind Spam now hawking deli meats for the health conscious
Hormel Foods Corporation is trying to repackage itself as a health-food purveyer with the introduction of its Natural Choice deli meats.
The ads, by BBDO Minneapolis, feature actress Judy Greer navigating awkward situation centered on different definitions of "natural," or "preserved," like a house full of unclothed "naturalists" or her Aunt Linda's preserved cats. The tagline is, "Make the Natural Choice."
Hormel joins a long list of food companies trying to capitalize on a growing consumer preference for healthier, less-processed options.
