Hegarty and Butterfield honoured in Queen's birthday list

LONDON - John Hegarty, creative director and chairman of ad agency Bartle Bogle Hegarty, and Leslie Paul Butterfield, managing partner at The Ingram Partnership, have received awards in the Queen's birthday honours list.

Hegarty, who co founded BBH in 1982, received a knighthood, while Butterfield was made a CBE.

Hegarty began his career as an art director at agency Benton & Bowles, where he worked with a young Charles Saatchi. He left TBWA to set up BBH in 1982 with Nigel Bogle and John Bartle, who has now retired.

Butterfield joined The Ingram Partnership in 2003, following a career at agencies including Boase Massimo Pollitt, now DDB, and Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO. He also founded agencies Butterfield Day Devito Hockney and Butterfield8 before joining The Ingram Partnership.
