Halifax are go: Thunderbirds' Parker and Lady Penelope star in latest ad

Halifax has unveiled Parker and Lady Penelope of Thunderbirds fame as the latest classic TV characters to appear in its TV campaign.

The new ad, created by Adam & Eve/DDB, sees long-suffering butler Parker visit a Halifax branch with a letter, only to discover he has won the top prize of £500,000 in the Halifax Savers Prize Draw Superdraw.

The spot debuted on ITV this weekend during Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. Media was handled by Greenhouse Group M.

The characters will also feature in branch, on outdoor posters and in online ads. Other characters from the 1960s series will appear on social media, including top tips for young savers from Brains, the resident boffin of International Rescue. There will also be an experiential game touring UK shopping centres, offering shoppers the chance to play on big screens and win prizes.

Catherine Kehoe, managing director group brands and marketing, Halifax, said: "We’ve had such a fantastic response to the Halifax campaign and who better than Parker and Lady Penelope to once again demonstrate that whoever walks through our door, they’ll get the same warm welcome, excellent service and that little bit extra."

Thunderbirds is the fourth classic show to appear in a Halifax ad, following Top Cat, the Flintstones, and Scooby Doo.
