Group M joins PATS buying system for publishers

WPP's Group M has joined the Publisher Advertising Transaction System (PATS).

Newsworks, the newspaper marketing body, launched PATS last year to make it easier for agencies to work with increasingly multiplatform media owners.

Dentsu Aegis Network and Publicis Groupe’s VivaKi already use the system.

PATS, which will be rolled out across Mindshare, MEC, MediaCom and Maxus in the third quarter, enables agencies and publishers to deliver audiences across brands regardless of platform.

Nick Theakstone, the chief executive of Group M, said: "PATS is a progressive initiative to create efficiencies and make it easier to do business with multiplatform media owners. I welcome it with enthusiasm on behalf of Group M and our agencies."
