Google took home a Grand Prix at Cannes Tuesday night, after its wearable tech clothing won over the Product Design jury.
The tech giant’s UK-based Creative Lab was one of three British entries that picked up awards in the Product Design Lions, announced at the International Festival of Creativity.
Adam & Eve/DDB also won a Grand Prix for the UK tonight in the Creative Effectiveness Lions.
Apart from the Grand Prix, all awards for Product Design are the same, and there are no gold, silver or bronze Lions.
Google Creative Lab won the Grand Prix for Jacquard Wearable Fabric, which literally weaves electronics into clothes. The smart fabric experiment created "smart clothes" which turned an outfit into a touch screen.
Primo Toys won a Product Design Lion for Cubetto, a wooden robot design to teach toddlers hour to code.
Native Design also won a Product Design Lion for Coloplast, a range of healthcare products designed to restore dignity to independent living with healthcare needs.
