One of the focal points of the eVillage, at the site in Battersea, will be a dedicated eSports zone. This will be the venue for Formula E’s Race and Pro Series.
The series organisers will be working with GMR Marketing to create an experience that reflects the values of Formula E and provides a high level of entertainment. Fans will have the opportunity to experience the g-forces that a driver faces during a race with a VR experience, see what they can from the cockpit and also test their race capabilities.
Ali Russell, Formula E’s director of media, said: "We are always looking at ways of improving the fan experience and providing opportunities for our partners to engage with their customers in an exciting and relevant environment.
"Through our work with GMR, we are looking to appeal to a diverse mix of audiences by creating a variety of themed areas within the eVillage."
Crispin Bolt, client services director at GMR Marketing, added: "The eVillage in Battersea Park allows GMR to draw on its extensive experience in creating brand experiences, and demonstrate its growing reputation in eSports.
"We are confident that the work we are doing for the London ePrix will be used as a template for other markets and future races as the series grows in popularity and global appeal."
