McDonald's has transformed its establishment in Tokyo's Roppongi Hill into a high-end restaurant featuring plates, silverware and napkins.

The pop-up, dubbed Restaurant M, has been planned to celebrate the launch of the fast food chain's new Fresh Mac variety.

Japanese website Sorrida has reported that the eatery will serve up full course meals such as vichyssoise, a soup made from French fries. Burgers will be served in canapé form on sticks, while drinks such as ice tea will be poured into wine glasses.

Restaurant M will be open for one day only on 27 July. Only 10 groups of 20 will be invited to dine at the jazzed-up McDonald’s.

The fast food behemoth hosted a range of experiences around the globe in March, including a double-decker bus performance around London with Jessie J.
