Gatorade turns 50 years old in 2015, and this spot by TBWA pays homage to the sports beverage's beginnings. Created at the University of Florida in 1965, Gatorade is named after the university's crocodillian mascot.
Fittingly, the spot begins by showing then-coach Ray Graves asking his football team to do 50 pushups. Next, a montage portrays 50 moments in sports that tie in with each number, such as five for Brazil's five World Cup titles and 23 for the number on Michael Jordan's jersey.
To leverage curiosity about the significance of each number, TBWA created an interactive YouTube channel that explains all 50.
