Gala Coral consolidates advertising with Engine

LONDON - Gala Coral, the betting and gaming group, has awarded Engine its consolidated advertising account.

Gala Coral said Engine will now handle all activity on Gala Bingo, Gala Casinos and Coral Bookmakers.

Engine's remit will span both on and offline activity and will include everything from direct to digital, advertising to promotions, CRM to communications planning.

Engine's appointment followed a three-way pitch against TBWA\London and Iris.

Iris, Frame and The Red Brick Road had all previously worked on the Gala Coral account.

Engine's appointment follows Gala's appointment of ex-William Hill marketer Chris Edgington as group marketing director.

Edgington joins the company from rival William Hill where he was group director of marketing. Previously, he was retail marketing director at gambling company Ladbrokes and held marketing positions at fast-food retailer McDonald's.

He had been doing consultancy work for the Gala ecommerce business fir the last few months.
