Budgen: died of cancer last year

A memorial screening is being held next week for Frank Budgen, one of advertising's most celebrated directors.

Budgen, who died aged 61 last November, was widely regarded as one of the finest directors in the business with ads such as "Escape the sofa" for Reebok and "Tag" for Nike.

His life and work will be celebrated at a one-hour memorial screening at 6.30pm on 5 October at Picturehouse Central, on the corner of London’s Windmill Street and Shaftesbury Avenue. Guests can have drinks afterwards until 9pm.

Budgen was recognised by D&AD on its 50th anniversary in 2012 as the industry’s most awarded director (jointly with Tony Kaye).
