Fortnum & Mason, sponsor of this year's Skate at Somerset House ice rink, is hosting weekly Tuesday Treats events until 22 December, with the first taking place last night (24 November).

The department store brand is to host workshops and tastings with the likes of vintage card curators Pearl and Black and confectioner Artisan du Chocolat between 5.30-9pm.

Fortnum & Mason will also be offering late-night shopping experiences within its pop-up store, The Christmas Arcade, meanwhile Christmas classics will be played at the rink throughout the period.

The Fortnum’s Lodge pop-up, which resembles a chalet in the European alps, offers visitors to the rink the chance to enjoy food and beverages pre or post-skate.

Dishes include cheese fondue to share, the Lodge Dog with chilli, a pulled pork and spiced apple bap, and snacks such as Marcona almonds and pigs in blankets with grain mustard mayonnaise.

The pop-up’s Botanical Bar opens in the evening, serving cocktails such as the Lodge Martini, Alpine Fizz and Sloe Royale. Mulled and non-mulled wine as well as beer and cider are also available, along with coffee, tea and soft drinks.

Fortnum's Lodge is set to open its doors daily until 3 January. Individuals can secure tickets to the Tuesday Treats events via Ticketmaster.
