The Marketors: new Master Andrew Marsden

Ex-Marketing Society president Andrew Marsden will become the new Master for The Marketors, a guild-style organisation for the profession.

Marsden has held a number of leadership roles in the industry, serving on the boards of BCAP and the ABC. He is former chairman of the ISBA Executive and the IPM and has sat on the government’s advisory committee on advertising. He has also set up his own brand consultancy.

He succeeds Michael Harrison, an independent consultant with a career spanning senior roles at IT and telecoms firms.

Marsden’s appointment comes as the company celebrates its 40th anniversary. As a City livery company, The Marketors aims to promote excellence in the field, with members comprising senior marketers and academics.

He said: "Our theme for the year is ‘building valuable brands.

"Our activities for 2015 will focus not only on the brand building as a critical element of shareholder value, but also the benefits and positive business outcomes that it can help deliver for organisations."
