With the Ashes test series in full swing, Event takes a look at what each of the UK venues has to offer in terms of event space.

Kia Oval

Home to Surrey County Cricket Club, The Kia Oval touts itself as London’s premier conference and events venue, offering facilities for award ceremonies, dinners, parties and product launches. The venue can cater for events holding up to 600 guests and it is located within walking distance to Oval and Vauxhall underground stations.

Spaces include the Corinthian Roof Terrace, which can host 400-450 people depending on the event and offers views of key sights across London, including the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye.

Cardiff cricket ground SSE SWALEC is home to Glamorgan County Cricket Club, and it can host events for more than 2,000 people. One of its main event spaces, The Indoor School, is situated within the National Cricket Centre.

The 900m2 space has easy ground access and supporting kitchen and storage areas, and it can hold up to 800 people.

Located in North West London, Lord’s features a host of venues available for events, including its famous Long Room, which has the capacity for up to 300 people, and the Pavilion Roof Terrace, which can hold up to 250 guests.

The ground claims to be able to provide anything from an intimate private dining room, to one of London’s largest and most adaptable venues – Nursery Pavilion, which can host up to 1,000 people for a reception.

Edgbaston Stadium – home to Warwickshire County Cricket Club – has seven function suites available for meetings and hospitality, banqueting and Christmas parties, for example, with its larger suites able to cater for up to 800 people. Located in Birmingham, the stadium is 2.7 miles from Birmingham New Street station and seven miles from the airport.

Trent Bridge

Following extensive refurbishments in 2011, Trent Bridge in Nottingham is keen to promote its facilities, which can cater from eight to 200 guests. It has event spaces available for meetings and conferences, exhibitions, corporate hospitality, parties and special occasions.
