Last month and into January we anonymously surveyed brand experience professionals from all areas and levels of the industry - from experience assistants, to brand managers and MDs.
The poll found that 45% were looking for a new job - down 5% from last year’s survey.
The main reason for initiating the new job search was to earn more money (37%), while 33% felt that they lack career progression opportunities in their current role.
Other reasons given included the chance for a new challenge (15%), while only 2% felt they were overworked in the current job.
Those surveyed overwhelmingly felt their work/life balance was satisfactory (68%), with 74% keen to remain working in the events industry for the rest of their career. These findings dispute the suggestions in a recent CareerCast report in the US that a career as an event coordinator will be the fifth most stressful job in 2016.
