The sports star and former tradesman joined the team of south London decorators on a one-day loan. Bullard spent the day brushing up on his painting skills, as well as hosting tea break pep talks and recreating his famous goal celebrations.
Shipps Building Services won Bullard’s services through Armstead Trade’s competition, which was timed to coincide with the close of the football transfer window. Mischief PR promoted the initiative.
Ewa Czapracka, marketing manager at Armstead, said: "There were an astounding number of teams vying for the chance to sign Jimmy for the day and it's been great to see him on the job back near his former football club."
Bullard added: "The transfer window is an exciting time and it seems very fitting that I'm back on familiar turf in Fulham. The team at Shipps has shown some great team talent and it's been a pleasure to spend the day back on the brush."
Bullard is also fronting Carling's Shirt Amnesty campaign.
