The stunt was created by the Sage by Heston Blumenthal brand, in collaboration with agencies iD Experiential and MBA, and involved an ambiguous tea vending machine which said ‘free tea’. Agency N20 was also tasked with building the stand for the event.
Passers-by who pressed a button were surprised by Blumenthal as a set of doors on the machine slided open to reveal the chef stood behind a counter. He offered participants cups of green, black and white tea, which were brewed in Sage's appliances.
Individuals were then invited to sit down at a nearby table and enjoy the perfect tea experience, complete with waiter table service and entertainment from classical musicians.
The stunt was designed to promote the Sage by Heston Blumenthal tea maker, an automatic tea maker which brews for exactly the right time and temperature.
