Engagement Meter: See the top social posts of last week

Demi Lovato's legs give Skechers a boost; mounds of pepperoni bring fame to a pizza chain; and OMG PUPPY!

Finding love on social media, particularly for brands, can be a challenge. So when in doubt, go with a sure thing. Puppies, pizza, cuddly kids and a semi-clothed Demi Lovato helped propel several advertisers to glory online this week. Well done, brands!

Unmetric, a social-media intelligence firm, uses an analytics platform to track brands with the highest amount of engagement for posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Unmetric’s engagement score rates each post from 0 to 1,000, depending on the amount of user interactions.

Here are the posts that reached an engagement score of 900-1,000:

Like any pet-themed business, BarkBox, the subscription dog-treat company, has an unfair advantage on social media. Your average Facebook simply cannot get enough "awww." This short, poorly lighted clip of a totes adorb furball was viewed nearly 5 million times and shared by 91,000 people last week. It also received 68,000 likes and 35,000 comments, making it unmetric's top social post of the week. Woof.

Universal Orlando Resort

Cute kids, Harry Potter and a thrill ride. How could you lose? This nifty 360-degree video of roller coaster "Flight of the Hippogriff" racked up 2 million views, 10,000 likes and 8,300 shares for Universal Orlando Resort last week, earnig it a top spot on the list.

Yellow Cab Pizza Co.

The question is like, how much more pepperoni could there be? And the answer is none. None more pizza. The Philipines-based pizza chain wowed its Facebook fans with this meat-tastic pie last week, yielding 51,000 likes and 1,500 shares.

CA Technologies

More pizza! Plus coffee, emojis, one trophy and a tie-in with this year's TechCrunch Disrupt rocketed this CA Technologies Facebook post to 24,000 likes.

Krispy Kreme

September 19th is Talk Like a Pirate Day. To commemorate this uniquely social-driven media holiday (did it even exist before Facebook?), Krispy Kreme is offering a free glazed donut to anyone who, well, talks like a pirate. A free dozen goes to anyone dressed like a pirate. The tweet announcing the offer proved popular enough to earn a perfect score on Twitter for the brand.

A picture of an apparently pants-free Demi Lovato wearing a leather jacket and some Skechers got the brand (and the celebrity) some adoring attention on Twitter. What role the footwear played remains unclear, however. As one commenter put it, "She's wearing shoes in that photo?"
