Ebay is targeting younger shoppers with a lighthearted Christmas ad themed around the awkward school disco.
The spot, created by DDB Europe, shows various characters using products bought on eBay to help them navigate awkward party scenarios.
One "indecisive Romeo" shakes a Magic 8 ball to determine whether or not to ask someone out. Meanwhile the girl of his dreams, a Goth, is "having an identity crisis" by donning bright yellow cat socks.
Gareth Jones, senior director of marketing for eBay in the UK, said the integrated campaign focused on "functional messages around value, range and service."
The ad will air tonight at 7:15 p.m. on ITV. It was directed by Nick Gordon through Somesuch. Media was handled by MediaCom.
