Domino's plans to increase UK stores from 950 to 1,600

Domino's has said that a strong performance in the UK has led it to increase its target for the number of UK stores by 400, from 1,200 planned new outlets to 1,600.

The pizza chain has opened 51 new stores in the UK this year and is on track to have 950 by the end of the year. Speaking to investors, it said yesterday it would up its target from new store openings from 70 a year to 80 a year, which would see it hit 1,600 within about eight years.

Domino's Pizza Group, the company that holds the franchise rights for Domino's in the UK and several other European countries, also said it planned to open 400 stores in new markets including Sweden and Norway.
