Ffrees: invites consumers to join an 'unbanking' revolution

Unbank, a digital finance provider operated by Ffrees, has enlisted 'social media activist' Jon Morter in a YouTube campaign to promote the brand.

Morter, known for campaigning against "manufactured pop music" from the X Factor and helping Rage Against The Machine to Christmas number one in 2009 features in the spot.

"Now I am raging against the banks", he  says in the YouTube video, which aims to show the brand as an alternative to traditional high street brands.

The bank, set up by a duo "exasperated by the ethics, service and attitude of the banks", encourages Brits to rethink why they would use a bank for their current account and exposes the "bleak adversarial banking model" that pushes customers towards "harmful debt."

There has been a trend towards emerging online-only banks, with the recent launch of Atom in the UK.
