Diet Coke with Lemon is to sponsor the next two series of Will & Grace on Channel 4 in a multi-million-pound 12-month deal aimed at raising awareness of the brand. The deal covers the fourth series of the US sitcom, airing in the UK from October 31, and the fifth series, to be screened next year. Diet Coke creative agency Lowe is developing break bumpers and sponsorship credits. The execution will create animated versions of the show's characters, depicted as bubbles in a glass of Diet Coke with a Manhattan skyline in the background. A Diet Coke spokeswoman said the sponsorship, negotiated by Vizeum, represented the brand's sole forthcoming activity in promoting the lemon variant, which launched in June 2002.
