Diary: Al Gore fires up Engine ..

It's not often that an agency has the honour of welcoming a former US vice-president to its building, so you can imagine the excitement at the Engine offices recently when Al Gore paid a visit to make a speech about the role that media has played in the fight against climate change.

Those in attendance included Robin Wight, who clearly couldn't pass up the opportunity to network with the former US Presidential candidate, forcing Engine's chairman, Peter Scott, to say to Gore in his speech: "You've had a very successful career in politics, and are now making a very successful career in the media.

"Our president Robin has had a long career in media, but now he's desperate to get into politics - will you please share a lift with him down to the ground floor ..." Shameless.
