DDB supports Unite to Face Addiction rally

Rally at nation's capital and creative work raises awareness of affliction

One in three American households face problems with addiction; one American dies every four minutes as a result of addiction. The statistics are sobering, and DDB New York has partnered with Facing Addiction to do something about it.

On Oct. 4, thousands will gather in Washington, D.C., to address this often-ignored crisis.

Joining them will be celebrities such as Sheryl Crow and Stephen Tyler (who lent his band Aerosmith's song "Dream On" for the event).

DDB worked with Fluid NY and Oscar-winning visual effects and creative firm Framestore and Sound Lounge for the online videos, website FacingAddiction.org, and outdoor films.

DDB New York CEO Chris Brown said, "I have seen at close hand the devastation caused by addiction to families and friends. It’s an issue the agency has really galvanized behind and we’re proud to be working with Facing Addiction and helping shift the focus of the conversation towards the fact that addiction is a health issue that cannot be stigmatized or ignored."
