DDB Spain plays with past and present in film for National Intolerance day

The short film recreates the famous 1969 Stonewall Riots to show just how little has changed when it comes to LGBTQ+ discrimination.

To spread the word for global Intolerance Day, DDB Spain made a short film that recreates the chaos of the Stonewall Uprising in 1969 with a present-day twist. Featured in the film is a digital rendering of pro Soccer player Julio Zuñiga, who was shot eight times and murdered in 2017 for coming out as homosexual. By inserting Zuñiga at the Stonewall Riots, the film blends past with present to capture how much more work there is to do in ending LGBTQ+ discrimination.
