Compton takes center stage with Kendrick Lamar in Grammy Awards promo

Residents of hip-hop artist's hometown join him in a rendition of "Alright"

Kendrick Lamar leads residents of his hometown of Compton, Calif., in a powerful rendition of his Grammy Award-nominated song "Alright" in a two and half minute film promoting for the Grammy Awards. The hip hop artist has been nominated for 11 Grammy Awards this year, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Rap Album and is scheduled to perform at the event on Feb. 15. The video is part of TBWA\Chiat\Day Los Angeles’ "Witness Greatness" campaign for The Recording Academy, which also includes outdoor and online ads featuring Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Sam Smith, Carrie Underwood and The Weeknd.
