Two new ads starring Norm Macdonald tell how founder "created" the recipe
Colonel Sanders traveled the world to find spicy Nashville Hot Chicken and, guess what, found it in Nashville, explains the KFC founder, as played by comedian Norm Macdonald, in one of two new spots from Wieden + Kennedy introducing the new chicken dish. In a second ad, the Colonel shares his plan with an approving board using a slideshow of pictures documenting his trip, discovery and his shameless appropriation of the recipe, which he scribbles into a notebook with sly smile and a feathered pen. Five months into his stint playing white-suited fried chicken purveyor, the former SNL cast member relays the story of the fourth chicken recipe to be introduced by KFC in its 86-year history with his predictably offbeat, blasé delivery. Spicy.
