The Clydesdales are 'Not Backing Down' in Budweiser's Super Bowl commercial

The iconic horses help the brewery proudly celebrate its strength and size

The iconic Budweiser Clydesdales viewers will see on this Super Bowl Sunday are not the gentle, friendly horses of years past, but strong leaders that help the brand boldly celebrate its bigness in a 30-second ad that takes on the micro-brews and declares Budweiser is "Not Backing Down."

A 60-second version of the commercial, created by Anomaly, was released online today and unapologetically tells viewers all the things its not—including small, sipped, soft and imported—with images of the horses galloping at top speed with nostrils flaring, its employees hard at work brewing the lager, and people enjoying it in settings ranging from a rock concert to a local bar.

The ad, which proudly reminds viewers that "it’s not for everyone," is a continuation of Budweiser’s "Brewed the Hard Way" campaign, which began on last year’s Super Bowl.  That ad boasted that Budweiser is a beer that shouldn’t be fussed over, or drank daintily, like a "pumpkin peach ale," but chugged down by people who just love to drink beer.

This year’s game marks the Clydesdales 27th Super Bowl appearance. Last year, they were helpful shopping companions in "Beer Run" and loving friends in 2014’s "Puppy Love."
