"The Driver" is back, joined by Dakota Fanning in a film directed by Neill Blomkamp
It’s been 15 years since BMW’s film series "The Hire" proved branded content was viable online. The eight short films from renowned directors like John Woo, Ang Lee, Guy Ritchie and Alejandro González Iñárritu racked up more than 100 million views long before high-speed internet was commonplace. Now BMW is continuing the series, with the next installment, "The Escape." Clive Owen reprises his role as the Driver in the violent and thrilling 11-minute film from agency Geisel Productions and production company Anonymous Content. District 9’s Neill Blomkamp directs, and Dakota Fanning joins the cast. Unlike most branded work, which treats the product with care, the BMW 5 Series sedan Owen drives gets put through its paces – shot up and smashed up – but it takes its revenge in a climactic tug-of-war with a helicopter.
