Chivas glassblower crafts amber drops containing 85 flavours

Beautiful handblown glass amber bulbs, each containing one of the 85 "flavour notes" that comprise a single droplet of Chivas 18, have been crafted by renowned glass artist Peter Layton and form the basis of an ad campaign for the premium whisky brand.

The Pernod Ricard label commissioned Layton and photographer Dan Tobin Smith to create and shoot the glass droplets, each of which was hung containing flavour elements including honeycomb, raspberry, cinnamon and lavender.

The bulbs were then suspended and photographed by Dan Tobin Smith to form the visual crux of the campaign, which comprises outdoor, print and digital ads.

The campaign, which breaks this week, is being pushed via online and social channels, including Instagram, while Chivas has created online films showing how the droplets were made.
