Chelsea Flower Show loses headline sponsor

The Chelsea Flower Show has been hit by the loss of several sponsors of its show gardens, in addition to its headline sponsor M&G Investments calling time on its deal.

The fund manager has decided not to renew its seven-figure deal with the May event held by the Royal Horticultural Society and its sponsorship expires this year.

Other sponsors who have supported individual gardens in the show in the past but have now pulled out include the Telegraph Media Group, Harrods, Asda, LG and L’Occitane.

According to The Times, this year’s show will feature an even smaller number of show gardens than 2009, which was affected by the financial crisis.
