A round-up of adtech and martech news to keep you up to date.

Chatbot expert iAdvize has raised a strong €32m (£28m) of series C funding with participation from Idinvest Partners, Bpifrance via Large Venture and Quadrille Capital. The start-up, which works with BMW, Disney, House of Fraser, Tui, and Alfred Dunhill, will use the funding quadruple its London team by 2020, and invest in its offices in Düsseldorf, Madrid and Nantes. It will also invest in AI and expand its international footprint by opening its first North American office in Boston this month.

Also expanding is UK-based search intelligence company, Adthena. The AI-powered search platform, backed by former King Digital chairman, Mel Morris, has expanded into the US with an office in New York. Adthena claims its AI and machine learning technology captures search engine results page data every hour, providing brands and marketers with comprehensive data. It counts Autotrader,, HSBC and Burberry among its clients.

With the concerns around transparency and ad fraud hanging like a cloud over the adtech industry, it's no surprise that many have taken steps to up their game in these areas.

Adtech provider Collective, for one, has rebranded itself as Visto after it's flagship product, the Visto Enterprise Advertising Hub. The rebrand is aimed at highlighting its focus on transparency. It promises to provide flexibility and scale while reducing operational inefficiency and bringing much-needed clarity to mitigate unnecessary tech taxes while increasing working media.

Digital publisher and ad network, Purch, too has deployed a "multi-tiered defence system" against ad fraud. The publisher of LiveScience and rolled out a new Javascript-based bot detection system as an integrated part its programmatic platform. It now says all its sites have Shieldsquare, an AI-powered bot detection and interception, enabled, and it also runs Integral Ad Science across its sites.
