Cheesemaker Castello has announced plans to open an experiential pop-up in east London on 9 September - 24 October.

The emporium will host more than 30 different variations of cheese to sample and purchase, as well as cheese accessories, wine, beer, cider and premium cheeses not yet available in the UK. These include Castello Höhlenkäse Classic, which is matured in underground limestone caves, and the Danish Unika, which is served in top restaurants such as Noma.

The pop-up will also act as a venue for cheese-based events. Live Q&A sessions will be run with food TV presenter Stefan Gates, tasting lunches and a wine-matching session with expert Matt Day will all be held during the seven week opening.

From Thursday to Saturday, guests will be able to explore the ‘perfect pairings bar’, which will serve an innovative range of cheese, drinks and nibble combinations. A fresh deli counter will also give them the chance to build their own hampers.

Located in Shoreditch, the store is the third of its kind after pop-ups were opened in New York, USA, Copenhagen in Denmark and The Hague in the Netherlands. The brand also plans to integrate its social media channels into the experience, with competitions and giveaways running on its Twitter and Facebook streams.
