Campaign US promotes Sherwood to creative editor and adds platforms reporter

Staff expansion continues as Campaign's Stateside edition turns 18 months old

Eighteen months after its US launch, Campaign is expanding its American presence by promoting I-Hsien Sherwood to creative editor and adding Ilyse Liffreing as platforms reporter.

Both Sherwood and Liffreing will be the first to occupy their respective roles. Sherwood originally joined Campaign US in October as a staff reporter. His elevation to creative editor will place him in charge of Campaign US’s overall creative coverage.

"I-Hsien brings a unique perspective to the job that will challenge the way the industry is used to thinking about creative," said Douglas Quenqua, Campaign US editor in chief. "His combination of wit, curiosity and an amazingly sensitive bullshit meter make him a perfect fit for the role."

"It’s going off right now, Doug," Sherwood said.

Separately, Liffreing joins Campaign US this week as its inaugural platforms reporter.  A recent graduate of the journalism Masters program at New York University, Liffreing has worked for NBC News, Tom’s Guide and New York magazine’s Bedford + Bowery blog. 

"After spending most of my life on platforms, it’s great to write about them now," said Liffreing.

Both Sherwood and Liffreing report to Deputy Editor Eleftheria Parpis.

Campaign US was launched by Haymarket Media in September 2014, 47 years after Campaign debuted in the United Kingdom. The US  site, which is based in New York, is one of five global editions of Campaign. Others are in Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, the UK, Turkey and India.
