The GoDaddy Scholarship for Women in Technology in association with Campaign includes Platinum passes to the festival, flights from London, onward travel to the festival and accommodation.
The partnership is part of a range of activity planned by Campaign to highlight the importance of equality in the creative industries during Cannes Lions.
A census from the IPA earlier this year found that women now hold only 30% of executive management positions in advertising, down from 33.1% in 2015. The problem is even more acute in the technology sector; a lack of equality means 40% of women in the UK feel that most technology is made by men for men, according to data from J Walter Thompson’s Female Tribes study.
Claire Beale, global editor-in-chief of Campaign, said: "Increasing diversity in the creative and tech industries is not just the right thing to do, it makes brilliant business sense. We are thrilled to help the next generation of talent have their voices heard at Cannes this year and move the diversity debate from column inches to tangible change."
Barb Rechterman, the chief marketing officer of GoDaddy, added: "We are delighted to be working with Campaign to move the needle on diversity from talk to action. As a technology provider to the world’s entrepreneurs and web developers and a large employer technical experts, we want to celebrate female technology talent in the creative community by providing the opportunity to attend one of the largest gatherings of creative communicators, the Cannes Lions Festival.
"Women working in the technology space are underrepresented and often underpaid, so we want to give them an unfair advantage, and offer them breakthrough moments like this which will accelerate their career," Rechterman said.
Who are we looking for?
There is no upper age limit for entry but we’re looking for women working in the creative technology space who would otherwise not have had the chance to attend Cannes. Entrants must be aged 18 or over.
Entrants must work in the creative technology sphere. You can nominate yourself, a member of your team or your colleague but entrants must be available to travel from a London airport and attend the festival from Tuesday 20 June to Sunday 25 June.
The five winning women, who will be selected by an industry judging panel, must be willing to share their thoughts from the festival with Campaign readers through an online diary, write for the GoDaddy Pro blog on creative technology topics and be included in a subsequent feature in Campaign.
What exactly does the prize include?
The prize includes Platinum Passes to the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, five nights accommodation at the JW Marriott, Cannes; a round trip and economy airline ticket from a London airport to Nice and transfers from Nice to Cannes.
Winners will be notified on or before Wednesday 14 June.
