A heartwarming sees one of adland's own nominated for a different kind of award, while the media industry provides a 90th minibus to disadvantaged kids.

What do Prince William, Anthony Joshua, Simon Cowell, Liam Payne, David Walliams and a senior designer from Wunderman have in common? Well they’ve all been shortlisted for the celebrity dad of the year award. Wunderman’s Mark Hoyle – for it is he – apparently makes the celebrity list not for his work at the agency but for his celebrity status on social media where he is known as LadBaby

Lord’s Taverners event last month saw Mindshare beat Ogilvy in the final of the netball and John Ayling & Associates beat Merlins in the rugby final and raised £20,000 for disadvantaged kids. Following that success, John Ayling is already organising his next fundraiser. The 36th Media vs Sales annual cricket fixture takes place at The Hurlingham Club on 13 June with a dinner for 300 afterwards. 

This year the charity will present five minibuses to disadvantaged kids schools as a result of its 2017 fundraising. This takes it to over 90 since the first fixture at The Oval, when names from the industry past, including Ron Miller, Ken New, Nigel Sharrocks, and Simon Lloyd all played.  Today’s legends are led by MediaCom’s Nick Lawson and Jamie Jouning from Condé Nast with ex-England captain Chris Cowdrey umpiring. Fancy joining them?
