British basketball agrees cross-league sponsorship deal with Kappa

Kappa has signed a first-of-a-kind deal in British basketball that makes it apparel sponsor across the men's and women's professional leagues and the Great Britain national senior and junior teams.

The deal starts in the 2016/17 season, which kicks off in September, and will run for an initial three-year period.

The Italian sportswear brand will provide a wide range of sportswear, including tracksuits, playing uniforms, training uniforms and leisure wear for all clubs and teams.

Mark Ward, Kappa UK managing director, said: "We are keen to increase our market penetration in all team sports such as football, rugby and other major sports. Our agreement with British basketball is another positive step towards achieving this goal."

Bob Hope, commercial director of BBL, WBBL and GB Basketball, said: "This is a significant development towards uniting the sport under one brand."
